Description

Graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC. With several stellar minor league seasons under his belt, Moses “Chief” Yellowhorse was touted as an excellent pitching prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates franchise. His April 1921 debut made Yellowhorse the first full-blooded Native American in Major League history. However, his friendship with Rabbit Maranville led to an introduction to booze, and Yellowhorse's career was cut painfully short as he suffered from injuries allegedly caused by drunken mishaps. The right-handed hurler attempts a comeback with the Sacramento Senators of the Pacific Coast League on the offered 1923 Zeenut (without coupon) single. Only 8 total copies of this groundbreaking player have been judged by the authenticator.
