Born in Louisiana and died in a traffic accident in New Orleans at the age of 49, Hall of Famer Mel Ott spent his entire adult life in baseball, 21 years as a player and 6 years as a manager. This 1 ½ x 3 ½ cut signature in black steel-tip fountain pen (“9-10”) features his sweeping calligraphy style handwriting.
