Popular legends are collected, with this multi-signed “Willie, Mickey & The Duke” art print. New York City baseball fans of the 1950s enjoyed an embarrassment of riches. Not only did the “Big Apple” host three winning MLB clubs at the time, each team also fielded an incredible Hall of Fame centerfielder. Willie Mays of the Giants, Mickey Mantle of the Yankees, and “Duke” Snider of the Dodgers are the subjects of this glorious print. Artist Flip Amato has cleverly worked in a juxtaposition of elements from the Polo Grounds, Yankee Stadium and Ebbets Field for a backdrop. More importantly, the revered subjects have signed neatly over their corresponding uniforms, and each has included a uniform number inscription, with “24” by Mays, “No. 7” by Mantle, and “#4” by Snider. Sized at 28” x 22”, this handsome print shows Nm details with deference to shading around the perimeter, that suggests prior framing.
