Description

Not only is this 1895 Boston Beaneaters schedule booklet rare, it's also impressively clean and sturdy. Issued for an ancient National League season, this remarkable publication is a 24-page pocket edition, fronted by an illustration of Beaneaters captain Billy Nash, who batted .290 in 1895, with 10 homers and 110 RBI. An interior page lists the leading hitters of the 1894 season, with Beaneaters star Hugh Duffy who batted .353 with 100 RBI in 1895, and plenty of other Hall of Famers, including Ed Delahanty, Billy Hamilton, Cap Anson, and Sam Thompson. A few spine ticks are noted, and the staples are moderately oxidized, otherwise this handsome booklet is a solid Ex+ example. Historians can trace the path of this Beaneaters squad through multiple name changes and two city locations, all the way to the current Atlanta Braves.
