Description

A flaming dish of revenge is served up by the Human Torch, on the front cover of this 5/42 Timely Comics Marvel Mystery Comics #31 issue. Published shortly after the infamous attack of Pearl Harbor, this Golden Age classic sees Toro roped to the front of a big gun mounted on a Japanese battleship, while the Torch treats the Japanese forces to a serious meltdown. Printed in the header area, is a Remember Pearl Harbor emblem at center, next to the issue number ball. Credit for this wildly imaginative scene goes to artist Al Grabriele, and Mickey Spillane, Bill Everett, Carl Burgos and other famous creators also contributed to this WWII era masterpiece. CGC has graded this treasure .5, Brittle Pages. Label notes are "Spillane, Everett & Burgos stories, Carl Burgos, Bill Everett, Bob Oskner & Al Fagaly art, Al Gabriele cover. "Remember Pearl Harbor" issue.".
