Description

It's strange days indeed, in this 1964-1968 Marvel Strange Tales collection. These vintage Silver Age comic books count as a near-complete run of (32/34) issues from the period this title was formatted as a Doctor Strange and Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD double feature. This period encompassed issues #135-168, and this offering includes all but two of them. Starring the mystical Sorcerer Supreme and one-eyed superspy Fury, this run was the proving ground for a couple of prominent artists to do their first work at Marvel. Given the considerable age of these nicely preserved comics, condition is surprisingly pleasing, ranging 81% Fn to Fn-Vf, 16% Gd to Vg-Fn, 3% lesser.

Featured issue numbers are: 136 (no front cover), 137, 138, 139, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148 origin of the Ancient One, 149, 150 first John Buscema work for Marvel, 151 first Jim Steranko work for Marvel, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159 Captain America cover/story, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168 last issue for Strange and Fury.

The two issues required to complete this run are 135 and 140.
