Description

“Gorby” surfaces, birthmark and all, with this signed 8” x 10” photograph. Elected to the office of General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev was also the last president of USSR. On his watch, the Soviet Union dissolved, the Berlin Wall came down, and the Cold War came to end. The 1990 Nobel Peace Prize recipient has located a bold, blue felt-tip pen signature across his upraised hand, at bottom of this crisp, clean photograph.

Accompanying is a cover letter dated “Moscow, July 2016”, on The Gorbachev Foundation letterhead, signed by Irina Shurygina, Officer for Public Relations, stating “President Gorbachev appreciates your kind letter with such sincere words. He is pleased to meet your request and is sending you his autograph.”
