Description

Say yes to this agreeable selection of football “yes-men”. On the bidding field are (5) 1960s gold round base bobblehead figures, representing AFL and NFL squads. All present handsomely with vibrant colors and nice gloss.

Featured are:

AFL New York Jets with Sports Specialties sticker is very appealing from a front view, though there are conditions that limit the grade to Vg. The helmet decal on the right side suffers 20% loss, there’s a hairline crack on the back of the helmet, specks of loss along the helmet stripe decal, moderate wear around the head opening, and uneven glaze on the helmet. This last condition appears to be a factory firing flaw, rather than the result of attrition.

AFL Houston Oilers with Sports Specialties sticker makes an impressive appearance, with great decal integrity, though a single, unobtrusive hairline on the back of the helmet that’s less than an inch in length, limits the grade to Ex-Mt.

Dallas Cowboys with a Sports Specialties sticker and a 1968 dated Made in Japan copyright sticker rates as Ex, with light to moderate wear including fading of the NFL Shield decal on top of the base, small bits of loss on the helmet star decals, moderate wear around the head opening, and one speck of surface paint loss on the left side of the helmet. Despite these conditions, this piece still presents handsomely.

Philadelphia Eagles with white helmet and Sports Specialties sticker is technically Ex+, though it presents as outstanding upon casual inspection. There's a spec of surface paint loss on the back of the helmet, light wear on the helmet wings decals, and some light soiling on the seat of the pants.

Philadelphia Eagles with green helmet and blurred 1968 copyright stamp is an outstanding Nm example, with scant traces of wear. The gloss is abundant, and the paint is vibrant and full right down to the gold belt buckle. The decals are strong, though each of the helmet wings has a single spec of wear, and the NFL Shield logo on top of the base is moderately soiled. The head opening is remarkably full and well-formed.
