Description

“Super Mario” stands ready to level up your collection, with this signed and inscribed 1995-1996 Pittsburgh Penguins team-issued KOHO pro-model hockey stick. One of hockey’s true elites, Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux played his entire career with the Penguins, and he ranks in the top ten of all-time NHL scoring leaders. With two Stanley Cup championships as a player, and another three as an owner, Lemieux is the only man to have his name engraved on Lord Stanley's Cup as both a player and an owner.

Decorated in Penguins black and gold, this "Revolution" labeled stick looks as though it saw some action, with signs of use/wear being evident, including light abrasions and markings on the blade that suggest tape removal. Black streaks are seen on the shaft, just above the blade heel, and there are streaks of general wear and paint rub along the rest of the shaft, on all sides. The name “Lemieux” is stamped on the designated white box near the butt end of the stick, which is professionally wrapped with black tape showing moderate wear.

Measured from the top of the shaft to the point where the heel of blade would make contact with the ice, this stick has a length of 61”. Spanning the region where the shaft transitions from black to natural, are multiple markings, including “49.6 , 24” written in gold on the black, faded red stamped numbers that may be “660, 7”, on the natural area, and raised numbers on the natural area, with “4” on one side, and “321” on the other side. Photograph matches with Lemieux skating through opponents with this exact stick type in hand can readily be found through an online search.

Lemieux has signed boldly in black on the front of the blade, and he has included the salutation “Best Wishes”, and the inscription “66”. Light the goal lamp for a big score, when you lay claim to this pro-model stick signed by one of the game's greats.
