Description

What began as a game, evolved into a great national holiday. Celebrate the birth of the NFL's main stage event, with January 15, 1967 Super Bowl I program. Billed as the "World Championship Game AFL vs. NFL", this program was issued while the two professional leagues were still separate entities. The game was held at the sunny Los Angeles Coliseum, with the NFL champion Green Bay Packers taking on the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs. Len Dawson and the Chiefs were game, but they were no match for coach Vince Lombardi's stacked Packers squad, who came out on top by a score on 35-10, with Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr earning the game's MVP award. This inaugural Super Bowl program rates as EX, with a solid spine, a clean cover, and supple pages.
