Lot # 421: Scarce 1963 New York Yankees Tri-Fold #2 Roger Maris

Scarce 1963 New York Yankees Tri-Fold #2 Roger Maris. This black-and-white action pose is printed on thin paper stock and measures 8-1/2 x 11" with three factory compacting folds. Beneath the slugger's full-body image are two paragraphs, the first with biographical information and the second notating career accomplishments. On the bottom right of the tri-fold is a union stamp along with text reading "1500-2/63" with the final digits confirming the date of production. Interestingly, through considerable research, we have been unable to locate the offered pose. While mounting tape is found on each corner along with a strip of clear tape on the upper right compacting fold including scattered creasing throughout, the overall presentation of this rarity is undeniable. The blank reverse displays light staining but is otherwise problem-free. A truly elusive artifact of the New York Yankees record breaker!
