Non-Sport enthusiasts make a nice score, with this selection of (3) 1967-1969 Topps complete and near-complete sets. Sci-Fi masterpiece The Planet of the Apes is teamed with a pair of obscure issues, reminiscent of the humor and style of popular satire magazines Mad and Cracked. This vintage collection makes a good impression, with cards and stickers that are generally well-preserved.
Featured are:
1967 Topps Dopey Books complete set (42/42). Styled with condition sensitive black borders, this vintage set of bifold cards ranges VG-EX to EX-MT+, with deference to the first few cards bearing rubber band dents at the horizontal center.
1968 Topps Phoney Records/Stupid Hits Songs near-complete set, with record stickers (37/40), and song cards (15/16); plus duplicates: stickers (27), and cards (19). Sized with odd dimensions of 3-3/8" x 3-3/8", these square format stickers and cards are bright, clean, and attractive, ranging 90% EX to NM+, 10% lesser, again with deference to a small percentage with rubber band dents.
1969 Topps Planet of the Apes near-complete set (43/44). Based on the classic Sci-Fi adventure starring Charlton Heston, these standard issue trading cards feature scenes from the ground-breaking film. Condition ranges VG-EX to EX-MT, with deference to rubber band dents on the first and last cards.
