Description

A personal point of view on one of baseball's most storied careers is provided, with this triple-signed, limited-edition 1985 "The Mick" hardcover book. A stated first edition, this vintage book reports in solid condition, with a gold facsimile signature on the front cover. Accompanying is the original dust jacket, which shows moderate wear, including a 2" x 1" section of surface loss at top-right on the front. Three firm signatures are located on a page that commemorates Mantle's 226th home run, with limited-edition numbering "226/536". This ancient blast is recorded as having been struck on July 4, 1958, at Griffith Stadium, Washington, D.C., a fitting place to knock one out of the park on our nation's birthday. The signers are Mickey Mantle, with a personalization in his hand, and his New York Yankees "Bronx Bombers" teammates "Yogi" Berra, and "Whitey" Ford.
