Description

Outstanding Titan model hockey stick used by Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux early in his career. The TPM1020 model stick features the block letter stamped name "M.Lemieux" near the top along with what is, in our opinion, the small and faint "Mai 1985" stamp down near the blade. This date would be significant as it would very likely place the stick with Lemieux during his second year as a professional. According to the accompanying MeiGray LOA, the date is not legible enough for them to make a conclusive determination on date, but they note that Lemieux began using this Titan model stick during the 1985-1986 season until discontinuing its use during the 1987-1988 season. The shaft exhibits moderate wear and chipping to the black and white paint. The stick is taped at the top 7.5 inches of the handle, with another 10 inches of tape present along the blade. The tape on the backside of the blade has started to fray and separate. Overall moderate use is present throughout. This is an outstanding piece from one of hockey's brightest stars of the 1980s! The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
