Description

The New York Giants were NFL Eastern Conference champions four times during the five-year production period for this 1959-1963 Hartland Plastics Giants football statue set (2). It was hard luck for the Giants and their fans, as they had to face the magnificent Baltimore Colts and Green Bay Packers teams of the period. Still, these figures represent an era of talented and entertaining Giants teams with:

Running back (VG), has no jersey numbers, the pants are dark cream and the red accent stripes are partially worn away. The faceguard is secure, the helmet lettering is attractive with moderate wear, and the gold base lettering is outstanding.

Lineman (VG), has off-white to light-cream pants. The faceguard is detached on the left side, and it is broken at center, on the lower prong. The helmet logo lettering is strong, as are the colors of blue jersey, and the red accent stripes on the pants. The jersey decals are bright white, and as with his teammate, the gold lettering on the front of the base is outstanding.
