You don’t have to be quick on the draw for this “Pistol Pete” Maravich signed 1970-1971 Topps #123 rookie card, but you will have to fire the final shot. Maravich rookie cards can be readily had, and though his signature is tough, it's obtainable for a price. However, tracking down a signed rookie card is a task akin to the Labors of Hercules! That’s because signed examples of Maravich’s Topps rookie card are exceedingly rare.
From the looks of it, Maravich granted this signature to a hotel lobby autograph hound, who scored big in his chase of the basketball wizard. This handsome card shows VG-EX+ condition quality, with bold colors, and bright white borders. Applied in customary fashion as “Pistol Pete,” Maravich’s signature presents as a hurried application that’s soft on the first letter on his given name “Pete” but otherwise reasonably attractive. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
