Description

The three biggest stars from a deeply talented squad, extended their teamwork beyond the field of play, by signing this 1980 World Series Champions poster. It was a long, long time in coming, when the Fightin’ Phils finally delivered their long-suffering fans their first ever World Series win in 1980. Two of the subjects, Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton, are already enshrined in the Hall of Fame, and the one-of-a-kind Pete Rose should be joining them posthumously in 2028, now that his much too heavy lifetime ban has been rescinded. Each superstar has provided an average (“8”) strength signature, accompanied by an inscription of his most celebrated career stat, with: Schmidt with “548” for his home run total; Carlton with “329” for his wins total, and Rose with “4256” for his hit total. Handsomely framed to overall dimensions of 26-1/2” x 22-1/2”, this like-new poster is limited-edition numbered “112/180” at bottom-left.

Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Mounted Memories COA/sticker.
