Description

Bag some big game from the coin realm when you take down this 1878-1921 Morgan Silver Dollar near-complete set of 90/95. These coins are housed in two Dansco deluxe albums. While there is a slot for an 1895 coin, most collectors don’t consider this coin to be part of the set, as it is known in proof finish only. We’re not counting it either, so you’re getting 90/95 different business strike coins here.

Just about every serious collector has the Morgan Dollar type on their want list, and getting this close to completion takes years of searching for most of them. For those who always wanted to get into coins, this is a headlong dive into the deep end of the pool, with just five admittedly tough coins required to finish off a set of this most popular coin type.

Each one of these large coins has an actual silver content of a little more than three-quarters of an ounce. However, numismatic collectible value is much, much greater than just the silver content. Many of these prized coins have survived in relatively small numbers. Especially prized are those from the Old West, which were struck at the Carson City Mint. There are also some very tough coins that came out of the San Francisco Mint, along with several from Philadelphia and New Orleans, which are considered tough as well. Individual grades have been assigned below. It should be noted, however, that the 1893-CC and 1895-O examples have been reported as being cleaned, and it's likely there are others that have be cleaned as well, though certainly not recently.
