Challenging 1940 Play Ball high number near set of 58/60 cards. Comprising #s #181-240, these turn-of-the-decade contemporary big leaguers and "former major league stars" are quite clean and generally present in the VG to VG-EX range with some better or lesser. Highlights include: #223 Jennings (VG), #224 Traynor (VG), #226 Hooper (VG-EX), #227 Haines (EX), #230 Faber (VG-EX), #232 Goslin (VG, stain), #234 Chance (VG-EX), #235 McGraw (VG), #236 Bottomley (EX), #237 Keeler (VG), #238 Lazzeri (VG) and #240 Atwood RC (VG, stain). Missing only #194 and #225 J. Jackson for completion.
