Mordecai “Three Fingers” Brown thought he would be an even better pitcher if he had all his fingers. Even so, Ty Cobb said Brown had the most devastating curveball he'd ever seen. Offered are two 8x10 b&w photos from the time period after he retired from the Chicago Cubs in 1916.
The first photo (EX-NM) features the famous image of him in suit and hat. The back has stampings by Geo. Brace. and Geo. Burke, with “Brown, Mordecai” written at the top.
The second is a glossy photo showing Mordecai and his family in the 1st row of Wrigley Field for a Cubs game. The photo (GD-VG) has light crinkling on the surface and a tape mark from a small tear on the back.
Also included is an 8x10 photo (VG-EX) with the 1923-24 Chicago Cubs World Tour team in street clothes at some exotic location. It is marked on the back “Chicago Cubs 1923-24 World Tour Team and Entronage” (Entourage). Opening Bid $100.
