Recall a tremendous season with this 1934 Chicago Bears Western Champions Type I photo. Taken by celebrated sports photographer George Burke, this photo was also used for the 1935 R331-2 National Chicle premium #9. Only bad weather could stop this juggernaut Bears squad, which rumbled to a 13-0 record, as the 1934 NFL Western Division champions. An ice-coated field at Polo Grounds cost the Bears the NFL championship in a contest known as "The Sneaker Game", which saw the New York Giants swap their cleats for sneakers at halftime. Showing approximate EX condition quality, this original 4x6 photo pictures seven Hall of Famers, with George Halas, "Red" Grange, "Bronko" Nagurski, Walt Kiesling, George Musso, "Link" Lyman, and Bill Hewitt. This antique photo is encapsulated by PSA with a Type I Authentic designation.
