Heading down the stretch in 1999, the Cleveland Indians were heading for a first place finish, and the Baltimore Orioles were heading somewhere else. So, it made sense for the Indians to acquire Hall of Fame slugger Harold Baines from the O’s. Prior to a trade in August, Baines played 107 games as a DH for Baltimore, blasting 2 homers, and driving in 81 runs, while posting a .322 batting average. This performance earned him a berth in the All-Star Game and a big spot on Cleveland’s radar.

Longtime Orioles coach Cal Ripken Sr., passed away just prior to the start of the 1999 season. In honor of Ripken's passing, the Orioles wore a black number “7” patch on the right sleeve of their jerseys all season long.

Here we have a 1999 Baltimore Orioles road jersey, game-worn by Hall of Famer Baines. As he was a DH, this jersey shows only light wear. Baines' name and number patches are on the back, and his number “3” and the Orioles team name lettering cover the front. As noted above, there's a "7" on the left sleeve, and on the right sleeve there's an Orioles realistic bird mascot patch. A letter “R” patch on the right sleeve, below the “7” patch, is a logo for the jersey’s maker Russell Athletic, and the left-front tail bears a size “48” factory label, with the number “99” written on it, for the year of use. Phil Wood LOA. Opening Bid $200.
