From the collection of a devoted baseball fan of long ago, comes this 1927 Hall of Famer and star player autograph display. Framed and matted to overall dimensions of 17x23, are (10) signatures on nine notebook pages measuring approximately 3-1/2" x 5-1/2". Eight of the pages are single-signed, and the other one is dual-signed. The original owner has added written notes to each page, with all but one citing the date "1927".

The (10) autographs range ("7" to "9") in strength, and (7) are from Hall of Famers, including a rookie era signature by Mel Ott, on a page with teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Freddie Lindstrom. With just 61 plate appearances in 1926, Ott's rookie season was technically 1927, when he came to the plate 180 times. Applied neatly as "Melvin Ott", this early example of his signature is very pleasing, rating as ("8.5"). All of those represented played for winning teams in 1927, either with the New York Yankees World Series champions, the Pittsburgh Pirates National League champions, or the New York Giants, who finished two games back of the Pirates in the NL pennant race.

Featured signers are:

New York Yankees World Series champions: Herb Pennock (HOF, d.1948), Waite Hoyt (HOF, d.1984);

Pittsburgh Pirates National League champions: "Pie" Traynor (HOF, d.1972), Paul Waner (HOF, d.1965), "Oil" Smith (d.1963), Lee Meadows (d.1963);

New York Giants: Mel Ott (HOF, d.1958), Burleigh Grimes (HOF, d.1985), Freddie Lindstrom (HOF, d.1981), Les Mann (d.1962).
