An ONL/Frick model dating from 1947-1951, this vintage ball is coated with a healthy layer of shellac. Wagner (d.1955) has thoughtfully signed on the sweet spot in blue by means of a steel-tip fountain pen. A spot of shellac loss affects the last two letters of Wagner's given name, and the accompanying full LOA from JSA notes "The signature of Honus Wagner appears to be enhanced under the video spectral comparator".
