A unique piece hits the block with this 1955-1959 Gene Woodling game-used bat, team-signed by the 1962 Baltimore Orioles. Woodling was with the O’s in 1955 and from 1958-1960, earning an All-Star Game selection in 1959, and MVP votes in both 1959 and 1960. This Louisville Slugger O16 signature model bat shows heavy use including a handle crack, which has translated to a PSA/DNA (GU 9) grade. Woodling’s uniform number “14” is written on the knob, which is also stamped with the model number. (25+) Members of the 1962 Orioles squad have signed up, down, and all around the bat’s full length. These period-signed autographs are thick black felt-tip marker applications ranging (“6” to “8”), with deference to moderate ink migration.

Hall of Famers are: Hoyt Wilhelm, Robin Roberts, Brooks Robinson, “Whitey” Herzog, Dick Williams, and Lee MacPhail (general manager);

Keys are: Jim Gentile, Jackie Brandt, Milt Pappas and Dick Hall;

Balance are: Dave Nicholson, Hal Brown, Harry Brecheen (coach), Russ Snyder, Hobie Landrith, Barry Shetrone, Cal Ermer (coach), George Staller (coach), Gus Triandos, Billy Hitchcock (manager), Wes Stock, Mickey McGuire, Chuck Estrada, Marv Breeding, Charley Lau, John Papa, Jack Fisher, and a few undetermined;

Clubhouse examples are both located on the handle, with: “Boog” Powell, and a second Robin Roberts signature.

Also written on the handle are the scores from a five-game Orioles sweep of the Yankees during an 8/24-8/26/62 series, that included back-to-back doubleheaders.

Full LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA for game use. Full LOA from James Spence-JSA for the autographs. Opening Bid $200.
