Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Fame owner-manager Connie Mack (d.1956) responded to a fan's request for a photo, with this 1941 signed handwritten letter. Dated 2/28/41, this antique letter is on Hotel Angelina of Anaheim letterhead, measuring 5-1/2 x 8-1/2". Mack's neat writing suggests the fan try him again "about May first at Shibe Park, Philadelphia". The correspondence concludes with Mack's ("9") strength signature. Perhaps the "Tall Tactician" brought the letterhead back to Philadelphia with him, as he mentions Shibe Park a second time at bottom, as his location.
