Through twenty-plus seasons as manager, Walter Alston quietly guided the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers to four World Series championships. From Alston's estate, comes this personally owned, generally better grade collection of (9) 1949-1959 Dodgers yearbooks. Featured editions are: 1949 (VG-EX), 1950 (EX), 1951 Seventh Printing (EX+), 1952 (EX-MT) with deference to a single letter "S" written on the front cover, 1955 only Brooklyn World Series championship season, technically rates as (FR) due to a 50% spine split, though otherwise presents more like VG+, 1956 crisp (EX+), 1957 (VG), 1958 very attractive (NM), and 1959 World Series championship season, also very attractive (NM). Accompanied by an LOA signed by an Alston family member, these yearbooks are reported as being acquired from a reputable collector, known for specializing in items from personal collections of sports figures. As Huggins and Scott was not involved in the prior auction sale, we do not attest to the personal ownership by Alston.
Opening Bid $200.
