Bat buffs gain some serious bragging rights, with the acquisition of this Cal Ripken Jr. autographed game-used bat. Employed by the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame shortstop during the period 1986-1988, this Walker finish bat is a Louisville Slugger P72 model made of ash, with a length of 35”, and a weight of 33.8 ounces. A facsimile of Ripken’s signature and “Genuine F149” are burned into the barrel, which shows abundant signs of authentic use, including checking, contact marks, and finish wear. The wear type has led to the conclusion that this bat was used by Ripken for batting practice, during the defined period. Ripken has signed boldly only the barrel, with (“10”) strength, by means of a sliver felt marker. Full LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA for game use; auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph. Opening Bid $500.
