One of the best players not in the Hall of Fame, Mickey Vernon was a true fan favorite, who played, coached, and managed at the "Big League" level from 1939-1982. From the 7X All-Star's final MLB season, comes this game-worn New York Yankees uniform, with jersey and pants. Vernon served as the Yankees hitting coach in 1982, when Don Mattingly made his Major League debut as a September call-up.
Manufactured by Wilson, both of these pinstriped garments are in exceptionally good condition, with only minor traces of use/wear. Sewn inside the jersey collar, is an identification tag with "Vernon 82 2", signifying the wearer's name, the year 1982, and the uniform set number 2. The factory label on the left front tail, indicates the size "46". Letter patches of the classic Yankees logo are located on the left breast, and Vernon's number "40" patches are seen on the back. A size "40" factory label is located inside the waistband of the pants, next to a tag with "Vernon 82 1 27", for name, year, set number, and inseam measurement. Accompanying is a LOA from Phil Wood, with Wood going all in on the authenticity of this uniform.
