Like a great many Americans, funnyman Jerry Lewis had a real love for the game of baseball. There are plenty of photos floating around, with Lewis seen in a variety on MLB uniforms. While the photos are easy to find, Lewis signed baseballs are a good bit tougher. Here's a chance to score both, with this Lewis single-signed baseball, which is paired with a c.1957 Don Wingfield photo of the famous comedian in the batting cage, wearing a Washington Senators uniform. Both of these items come from the collection of Bill Turner, who was a batboy for the Senators from 1956-1959. The period signed ball is a 1951-1959 OAL/Harridge model in (Ex) condition. Lewis has signed ("7") and personalized this ball "To Bill", on a side panel. Sized at 7x9, the crisp, clean photo bears Wingfield's credit stamp on the reverse. Lewis is pictured taking a cut, with Turner looking on from behind the cage, at right. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
Opening Bid $150.
