Make the winning play to own this "Greasy" Neale signed index card. It's closing in on fifty years since the 1973 death of this legendary two-sport player and NFL/college football coach, putting his autograph far over the line in the tough zone. This crisp, light-cream card is neatly signed and personalized with an ("8-9") strength signature, applied as "Earle "Greasy" Neale.  The list of those who played professional football and baseball is not all that long, and most of them did it a hundred years ago, during Neale's playing days. While we could not discover a definitive list, the number of those who won championships in both football and baseball has to be miniscule, and could indeed be limited to one, Neale. Playing in the top pre-NFL football association, Neale won Ohio League championships in 1917 with the Canton Bulldogs, and 1918 with the Dayton Triangles. Neale also earned a World Series ring, leading the Cincinnati Reds with ten hits in the 1919 "Fall Classic" versus the "Black Sox". For good measure, Neale led the Philadelphia Eagles to back-to-back NFL championships in 1948 and 1949, while serving as the team's head coach. For his outstanding efforts, Neale has been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame. Auction LOA from JSA.
