The cartoon realm's favorite game of cat and mouse stars Hanna-Barbera's classic characters "Tom and Jerry", who have been entertaining audiences with their hilarious hijinks since the 1940s. Get in on the fun with this animation cel from the 1980s Filmation Studios animated series "The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show." Formatted with two original hand-painted individual character production cel sheets over a street scene backdrop copy, this 13x11 presentation was created for episode #4A "Invasion of the Mouse Snatchers", which first aired 9/27/80 on the CBS Network. This colorful scene sees Tom menaced by a muscular rodent of overwhelming size, which is unbeknownst to our favorite feline, actually a throng of mice in a blow-up suit. Tom's torment was enacted by Jerry as revenge for duping him earlier in the episode. Editorial markings at bottom and a Filmation credit at right provide authentic provenance, and condition is excellent, with deference to a bend at the top left corner, which affects only the clear field, not the art. Also included are the two original corresponding pencil sketches of Tom and the Muscle Mouse, which are also in excellent condition.
