Celebrate the election of 15th POTUS James Buchanan (d.1868) with this lot of (4) framed displays. Originating in the mid-1800s, these historic items provide a nice overview of Buchanan's political service. Featured are:

5x3 Free Frank signature framed to 13x11; located at top right Buchanan's ("8") strength signature shows stylish flair with the word "Free" written just above and a "Free" stamp below that just barely makes contact with the bottom of the signature. A postmark stamp at left reads "Lancaster, Jul 25" from the Pennsylvania city where Buchanan resided during his adult life and from which he served as a State Senator (1814-1816) and also as a U.S. Senator (1834-1845) and Congressman (1821-1831). Auction LOA from JSA

2x7 "Buchanan Reception" ribbon in better condition, framed to 8-1/2 x 13-1/2"

6 x 7-1/2" Portrait in engraving style, image is distinct with moderate staining noted on the peripheral white field, framed to 8x10

1856 Presidential Campaign 5x8 handbill in better condition with moderate wear, framed to 12 x 15-1/2"
