Interesting 1907-09 H.M. Taylor Detroit Club postcard picturing Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford and Hughie Jennings. Graded 20 Fair 1.5 by SGC due to the reverse stamp, postmark and written note. This attractive correspondence piece was mailed just a day before the Tigers engaged in the 1908 Fall Classic re-match against the Chicago Cubs. The writer remarks that "Detroit is base ball mad." Unfortunately, the city would be much more somber just a week later as the Tigers would fall to the Cubs by a 4-1 margin. It would be the last World Series conquest for the Cubs for more than a century!
