Surf's up! Only one of Marvel Comics' merry madmen could come up with a metallic-skinned alien riding a high-powered surfboard through the cosmos. Created by Jack "The King" Kirby to ride the wave of the 1960s California surfer craze, the Silver Surfer made his first appearance in the offered 3/66 Marvel Fantastic Four issue #48. This key first appearance issue is a big collector favorite, and the noble Silver Surfer stands proudly as one of the most intriguing characters ever seen in the pages of comic books. CGC has recently returned this greatly prized comic with a respectable grade of (5.5, Off-White Pages). Label notes are "Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott cover and art. 1st appearance of Silver Surfer and Galactus (cameo last page). Inhumans and Watcher appearance."
