Major League Baseball All-Star Game participation comes with plenty of perks, and heaps of recognition. A couple of 1958 Mid-Summer Classic mementos surface here, with these (2) silver-plated presentation pieces.

Featured are:

Crofton serving tray presented to first base umpire Tom Gorman, is engraved at center with “All Star Game Baltimore, MD. July 8, 1958 Tom Gorman. Measuring approximately 20x15, this silver on copper creation is etched with an ornate pattern. Considerable age toning is evident, and the overall period authentic look is outstanding. The hallmark on the bottom reads “Crofton Silver on Copper, Frank Hawker Ltd. Made in England”.

Mueck-Cary 2-piece chafing dish set presented to Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Frank Thomas is hallmarked on the two vessels. Pyrex bowls fit in the 9” diameter silver-plated vessels with lids, which sit on 4” tall stands, that have a 6” diameter bases, and each has a separate burner. The two chafing dishes are fitted in a 20x10x1 wood base, with bronze handles at either end. An engraved plate on the base reads “All Star Game Baltimore MD. July 8th 1958 Frank Thomas”. This set also shows considerable age-appropriate toning, and the wood base shows moderate finish wear.
