An iconic baseball landmark arose when the newly renovated Fenway Park opened for the 1934 season. The Boston Red Sox first game of the 1934 season, marked the debut of the "Green Monster." From this long ago opening day comes this 4/17/34 Red Sox program. A light vertical compacting fold limits the technical grade of this 90-year-old program to (VG-EX), though otherwise it presents more like EX-MT. In addition to the Green Monster becoming the Sox best defense against right-handed home run hitters, fans were also treated to Hall of Famers "Lefty" Grove, Herb Pennock, Rick Ferrell, and manager "Bucky" Harris, who are all pictured, and listed on the scoring grid page of this crisp, clean program.
Opening Bid $150.
