This typewritten letter on “Boston American League Baseball Company” stationery was written by Hall of Famer Eddie Collins when he was vice president and general manager of the Red Sox. Dated May 14, 1934, it is addressed to Frank L Boyden of the Deerfield Academy, Deerfield, Mass. Collins sends his regrets that Mister Boyden could not attend his birthday celebration.
