A thrilling future from the distant past arrives now with this 1954 Eastern Color Printing Famous Funnies #210 pre-code comic book. This Gold Age issue has a whole lot going for it, starting with an amazing cover by artist Frank Frazetta. A seminal title, Famous Funnies is widely considered the first ever true American comic book. So there's that, plus the cover subject is 25th Century space adventurer Buck Rogers, a fictional hero, who went a long way in normalizing the idea of space exploration. A teaser caption at bottom reads "First In The Future," and Frazetta's art credit is printed at the bottom right corner. Our hero is depicted with ray gun in hand, as he speeds to the rescue of his voluptuous girlfriend Wilma Deering, who is being held in the clutches of an evil green alien with bad intent on his mind. On top of all that, this nicely preserved example has just returned from CGC, with a very respectable grade of (4.5, Off-White to White Pages) with "Frank Frazetta cover" noted on the label.

Opening Bid $500.
