There’s a good chance Bob Horner used this bat in 1978, when he won the NL Rookie of the Year award, as a rising star for the Atlanta Braves. A true slugger, Horner put up solid power numbers in his 1979 sophomore season, and continued the trend pretty much throughout his 10-year MLB career. Produced by Adirondack during the labeling period 1978-1979, this rookie era Big Stick model number 194VP bat displays excellent signs of use, with several contact marks and bat rack streaks on the barrel, a light crack on the upper handle, and tape with a moderate coating of pine tar on the lower handle, adding up to a PSA/DNA grade of (GU 8.5). A facsimile of Horner’s autograph is spotted on the barrel, and his player number “5” is written on the knob, over the stamped in model number. Full LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA.
