Baltimore Orioles slugger Curt Blefary started out his career with a couple of big bangs, winning the AL Rookie of the Year Award in 1965 and the World Series in 1966. Recognition of his fine accomplishments takes the form of these (2) award plaques.

Featured are:

1965 The Sporting News Curt Blefary AL Rookie of the Year award. This heavyweight 12" x 15" plaque is centered with a die-cut metal portrait of Blefary. Located above and below the image of Blefary are two bronze plates with The Sporting News title plate at top, and a summary of Blefary's 1965 offensive output at bottom. While moderate wear is noted, this dynamic award offers tremendous display appeal.

1966 Baltimore Orioles American League Champions 11" x 13" photo plaque, presented to Blefary "In Appreciation for a Job Well Done." Blefary is pictured at top of a metal plate, which is printed at bottom with the provenance "Presented by The Orioles Advocates, September 30, 1966." This piece also shows moderate wear, however the surface retains a mirror-like quality and the photo and text stand out nicely.

The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $150.
