Baltimore Orioles slugger Curt Blefary started off his MLB career with a couple of big bangs, winning the AL Rookie of the Year award in 1965 and a World Series ring in 1966. From the Orioles 1966 championship season comes this Blefary game-used flannel uniform. Comprised of a jersey and pants, this uniform has undergone professional restoration and alteration to present handsomely with excellent use/wear. The accompanying LOAs note that many Orioles flannel uniforms from this period were sent to a landfill, so supply is short, and surviving examples are highly prized.

The jersey is labeled on the left front tail with a Wilson size “42” factory tag, and a “66 set 1” team identifier tag. Handed down to an Orioles minor league team, the jersey has restored number “3” patches on the front and back, and Blefary’s name letter patches on the back have been restored as well. Blefary has signed on the right front tail and his black felt-tip signature presents as a (“5”) strength example.

The pants were also made by Wilson with a size “36” factory tag inside the waistband. Next to the factory tag is an identifier tag with “35 – 27 66 – 1” for waist size, inseam, year, and uniform set number. Written on the waistband is “34 W 26 INS” to indicate the waist and inseam were taken in for a second user. Individual LOA from Phil Wood for each garment. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph. Opening Bid $500.
