Greetings from Dodgertown! The Brooklyn Dodgers longtime Spring Training facility in Vero Beach, FL., was the site for this c.1950 Type I photograph, of pretty much the entire organization. You don't see this many members of a franchise on the field, even after the clinching game of a World Series. This unusual shot features executives, photographers, domestic workers, grounds crew, trainers, coaches, chefs in puffy white hats, and a host of players in Dodgers uniforms. The key figure in this throng, is Jackie Robinson, who is standing in a group of infielders, in the foreground towards the right, with Gil Hodges next to him, holding his first baseman's mitt in his left hand. PSA has encapsulated this original 8x10 photograph, with an (Authentic) designation. Upon close inspection, moderate wear is noted at different points on the perimeter, however the image area appears to be unmolested.
Opening Bid $250.
