If they name a trophy after you, you did something right. Actor, author, athlete, and coach of football, baseball, and basketball, John Heisman (d.1936, CHOF) did many things right. A brilliant pioneer of the game, Heisman literally wrote the book on football, and here we have a rare signed first edition of his 1922 book "Principles of Football". As noted on the title page, this hardcover book was published by the Sports Publishing Bureau, during Heisman's tenure as head coach of the Penn Quakers. This book is nicely preserved in Vg condition, with a fairly tight spine, solid cover, and supple pages. Heisman's 7-8 strength black steel-tip fountain pen signature is located on the front flyleaf page, and includes a personalization in his hand. Declare yourself the real Heisman winner, when you bring home this important signed football treasure. Full photo LOA from James Spence/JSA.
