To date, the Pittsburgh Pirates have won the World Series five times. Their two most recent championships are commemorated in grand fashion, with these (2) Louisville Slugger World Champions black bats. Issued for the 1971 and 1979 champions, these prized bats are decorated on the barrels with facsimile signatures. The titling and the managers are in green, and the rest of the squad’s signatures are in gold. Both of these celebratory bats report in (NM) condition, with only minor touches of signature erosion. Some of the great Pirates players represented are: 1971: Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell, Bill Mazeroski, Al Oliver, and Dock Ellis; and 1979: Willie Stargell, Bert Blyleven, Dave Parker, and Bill Madlock. Attached to the 1971 bat by means of a blue ribbon, is a business card printed with "Compliments and Best Wishes of Hillerich & Bradsby Co.".
