"Duke" Snider is all smile in this vintage Type I photograph. That's because it dates from 1958, the year the Dodgers relocated west from Brooklyn. This move allowed Snider to return to the place of his birth, Los Angeles. Credited on the reverse to the Metro Group Editorial Service, this 8x10 glossy photo is a fantastic souvenir of the Dodgers first season in sunny California. Though a corner crease at lower left forces a (Vg) rating for this vintage portrait, it is otherwise very pleasing, with abundant gloss, and a sharply focused image of the smiling slugger. A caption pasted on the reverse reads "Star Player -- Dodger veteran Duke Snider pauses for picture in L.A. uniform. He was one member of the team who heartily approved the move to the West".
