Baseball fanatics score big, with this 1951 WKBK/Ben Bay "Lucky Fan" Chicago Cubs near complete photo set of (26/28). A super-tough regional issue, these 8x10 glossy black and white photos are seldom offered. When made available, it's usually on and individual basis, or in small groups of two or three. Complete or near complete sets, such as this one, come around once in a blue moon, making this a golden opportunity for those who delight in obscure issues. Each photo in this near complete set is stamped on the reverse with "Courtesy of Ben Bey "Lucky Fan" WBKB - Chicago".

Condition ranges 35% Ex to Ex-Mt, 50% Vg to Vg-Ex, 15% lesser. For the most part, wear is confined to the corners, with just one photo bearing a crease in the image area. No pinholes, tears or writing is evident, however a couple of photos suffer obverse surface paper loss on the upper corners, due to removal from album mounting, and one photo has moisture stains. For the great majority, the image area is gorgeous, and the surfaces are generally clean.

The star of this set is TV's "Rifleman", Chuck Connors, who has a relatively limited list of materials from his active baseball days. The balance are: Hank Sauer, "Dutch" Leonard, Andy Pafko, Mickey Owen, Randy Jackson, "Rube" Walker, Bob Borkowski, Frank Baumholtz, Phil Cavaretta, Jack Cusick, Bruce Edwards, Dee Fondy, Joe Hatten, Gene Hermanski, Frank Hiller, Hal Jeffcoat, Bob Kelly, Johnny Klippstein, "Turk" Lown, Paul Minner, Bob Ramazzotti, Bob Rush, Bob Schultz, Bill Serena, and Roy Smalley. The (2) absent photos are "Smoky" Burgess, and Cal McLish.

Opening Bid $200.
