Under managers Walter Johnson and Steve O'Neill, many of the 1935 Cleveland Indians players turned in good seasons. A little further west, the highly talented Detroit Tigers were doing even better, finishing the season as World Series champs, while the Indians had to settle for third place. Both of these ancient squads are represented with this multi-signed 1935 album page. Applied to both sides of this well-preserved 4x6 sheet, are (18) autographs ranging 7 to 10 in potency, with most being bold examples. The immortal Walter Johnson stands out as the biggest prize of the group, and many long deceased players add significant value.
(11) Indians are listed on one side of the page, with: Bill Knickerbocker (d.1967), Frank Pytlak (d.1977), Oral Hildebrand (d.1977), "Ab" Wright (d.1995), Lloyd Brown (d.1974), Hal Trosky (d.1979), Walter Johnson (manager, HOF, d.1946), Earl Averill (HOF, d.1983), Steve O'Neill (manager, d.1962), Ralph Winegarner (d.1988), and Joe Vosmik (d.1962). On the opposite side are (7) Tigers, with: "Roxie" Lawson (secretarial), Vic Sorrell (d.1972), Danny Carroll (trainer), "General" Crowder (d.1972), Joe Sullivan (secretarial), Jo-Jo White (secretarial), and "Schoolboy" Rowe (secretarial).
