Although this contract was drafted for Sonny Liston's second knockout of Floyd Patterson on July 22, 1963, much of the content revolves around the planning for a potential rubber match, or lack thereof, depending on the Liston-Patterson II outcome. Obviously, a third bout never came to pass. Included are 3 original copies of the 5-page contract (with blank spots for Liston and Patterson's signatures) that begin, "REMATCH CONTRACT / This agreement is made and entered into between Charles Liston of 4900 South Greenwood Street, Chicago, Illinois (hereinafter called 'Liston') and Floyd Patterson of Scarsdale, New York (hereinafter called 'Patterson') and Championship Sports." Each measures 9" x 14-1/2", with one printed on regular paper stock (only signed by Thomas A. Boian, Championship Sports President) and 2 corresponding onionskin filing versions.
