The original owner was quite impressed with the future Hall of Famer as he inscribed on the front perimeter "Boy Wonder - twenty years old. Champion batter base stealer and run getter." This eyewitness account not only dates the piece to 1907 but also adds intriguing historic context to what is widely considered as Cobb's rookie. Despite moderate creasing throughout, the black-and-white action pose is "picture perfect" while the Detroit postmarked and addressed reverse is only lightly soiled, but otherwise clean.
